General Statement
Elding Electrical recognises its responsibilities under the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974 and associated legislation. We are committed to ensuring, so far as is reasonably practicable, the health, safety and welfare of ourselves, subcontractors, customers, and others who may be affected by our activities.
Our Commitments
To provide and maintain safe systems of work, safe plant and safe equipment.
To assess risks regularly and take appropriate action to mitigate or eliminate them.
To ensure that adequate training and/or instruction is present to carry out work safely.
To provide appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensure it is used correctly.
To prevent accidents, cases of work-related ill health, and damage to property by implementing safe working practices.
To review and update this policy annually or sooner if there are significant changes in legislation or working practices.
Responsibilities
Chris Chapman: Overall responsibility for health and safety. Ensures compliance, resources, and reviews of this policy.
Working Arrangements
All electrical work will comply with BS 7671, Electricity at Work Regulations 1989, and relevant HSE guidance.
Risk assessments and method statements (RAMS) will be completed where appropriate.
Safe isolation procedures will always be followed before working on electrical installations.
Test instruments will be regularly checked, calibrated, and used in accordance with manufacturer’s instructions.
Tools, equipment, and PPE will be inspected regularly and replaced when necessary.
Welfare arrangements (first aid, rest breaks, washing facilities) will be made available as required.
